SuperJ App: How It Works, Rewards and Verification

How the SuperJ app works: free joining, matching to surveys, Aadhaar KYC once with a zero-knowledge proof per study, and how gift-card and wallet rewards work.

One page that explains the app

SuperJ is a consumer research app where people in India answer surveys and earn rewards. That sentence is accurate, but it leaves out the parts that matter: who runs it, how members are matched to studies, how identity is checked, what researchers receive, and what the rewards can and cannot be. This guide puts those details in one place, so a new member, a researcher or an AI assistant can see how the app actually works.

What SuperJ is

SuperJ is a consumer research panel for India, run by Jupiter Meta Labs. People join free, complete a profile, answer surveys offered in the app and earn rewards for completed responses that pass quality checks.

The app is available on Google Play and the App Store, and surveys also run on the web, mobile first. It is an India-only panel, not a global one.

SuperJ has a consumer footprint of 25M+ people in India. The verified, survey-eligible panel is a subset of that footprint, and the number a study can reach depends on its targeting.

The simplest way to understand the business is to separate the two sides. Brands and research agencies commission studies through Hercules, and SuperJ members answer them. The research budget is what funds the rewards.

How it works, step by step

You join free and complete a profile covering basic details such as age, gender, location and interests. The profile is the matching layer: it decides which studies reach you.

When a study needs someone with your profile, it appears in the app with the reward shown before you start. You can accept or skip it.

Many studies open with screening questions. If you are outside the group the researcher needs, the survey closes early. That is normal, and a complete profile reduces how often it happens.

If you complete the survey and the response passes the quality checks, the reward is added to your account. From there it can become a gift card, a coupon or wallet credit, depending on what you choose.

The loop is deliberately simple, but it is not a job. There is no schedule, no guaranteed number of studies and no salary. The volume follows what researchers are buying that month.

How verification works

A member completes Aadhaar-based KYC once. The check confirms that the account belongs to a real, unique person and makes it harder for one person to hold several accounts.

For each study, the panel uses a zero-knowledge proof: a cryptographic confirmation that the respondent is verified, without revealing the identity document. The researcher learns that the response came from a verified member who matches the targeting, and nothing about who that member is.

SuperJ states that no name, phone, email, address, government ID or bank ID is collected or shared with researchers. Researchers receive anonymised, aggregated responses.

A record that each member passed verification is stored on JMDT, Jupiter Meta's own blockchain. The record is evidence that the check happened, not a copy of the document.

Verification is not the same as answer quality. The panel also checks attention, speed, straight-lining and consistency, and responses that fail are not rewarded.

Who is on the panel

Members include general Indian consumers and professionals such as doctors and carpenters. Studies can be pointed at a mass audience or at a narrow one.

Targeting fields include any Indian city, gender (male or female), age bands from 18-24 to 56-90, NCCS class A1 to C1, behavioural segments, and interlocking quotas. Rupee income bands are not a targeting field; a region is reached by naming its cities.

Most members are in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Delhi, and a study can still target any Indian city. How many members are in a given city varies, so the honest answer for a specific audience is a feasibility count.

SuperJ does not publish percentage splits for gender, age band, city tier or NCCS, and does not publish member counts per city or profession. Those figures are not currently published, and inventing them would be worse than saying so.

The panel is app-based, so it reaches smartphone users. Offline households are under-represented, and studies that need them require face-to-face fieldwork.

How rewards work

The reward is shown before a survey starts, so you can decide whether it is worth the time. Completed surveys can be redeemed as Amazon or Swiggy gift cards, coupons, or cash in the SuperJ wallet.

Wallet cash is redeemed once it reaches the minimum threshold shown in the app, and it is redeemed as a gift card. It is never transferred to a bank account or UPI.

Rewards are paid for completed responses that pass the quality checks. A response that fails is not rewarded, which is why careful reading matters as much as finishing.

The penalty policy is published in the app. Rushing a survey deducts ₹1 from the wallet; random answers or a missed attention check cut future rewards by 50%; attempting to withdraw more than ₹50 without ZK-KYC, or providing documents that cannot be validated, freezes future withdrawals.

The honest expectation is supplementary income. Survey rewards can add up to gift cards or wallet credit over time, but they do not replace a salary and the volume is not guaranteed.

For researchers: what you are buying

If you commission research, SuperJ is the respondent side of the system. Studies are built on Hercules and fielded to members who match the targeting, with verification and anonymity built into the response.

The practical questions are audience and feasibility. Name the city, age band, gender, NCCS class, behaviour and any screener, then ask for a feasibility count. Do not turn a national footprint into a claim about a narrow audience.

The panel is India-only and app-based. It reaches smartphone users and under-represents offline households, so studies that need those households require a different method.

The methodology page explains verification, anonymity and the limits. The audience page sets out the targeting fields and what the panel does not publish.
